Social Media Usage

An analysis on Bentley University students and their social media usage, to explore the overall growth in screen time experienced in young adults. The sample focused on around 4 different classrooms in Bentley, with the data being self-reported. Students where asked to look at their screen time on their phones, so other social media usage via online or on other devices where not tracked, meaning that this is the minimum usage of social media of freshman and sophomore students. We can see that on average, students would use TikTok for around an hour every day, with other apps such as Youtube, Snapchat, and Instagram being used for around 50 minutes a day. Additionally, over 20 students used Instagram or TikTok over an hour every day, on average. Applications such as WeChat and Whatsapp were classified under the Messages app, to keep consistency.
